Tell the truth. Or face the consequences.
Clue meets Riverdale in this page-turning thriller that exposes the lies five teens tell about a deadly night one year ago.

One year ago, there was a party.
At the party, someone died.
Five teens each played a part and up until now, no one has told the truth.

But tonight, the five survivors arrive at an isolated mansion in the hills, expecting to compete in a contest with a $50,000 grand prize. Of course…some things are too good to be true. They were each so desperate for the prize, they didn’t question the odd, rather exclusive invitation until it was too late.

Now, they realize they’ve been lured together by a person bent on revenge, a person who will stop at nothing to uncover what actually happened on that deadly night, one year ago.

Five arrived, but not all can leave. Will the truth set them free?
Or will their lies destroy them all?

Thoughts

Okay, I don’t usually read horror-suspense. I think the books I’ve read that belong in that genre could be counted in one hand. Though, I love trying something new.

Honestly, I stopped reading after a few chapters. Not because of something bad though. It’s because I was about to sleep and things started getting creepy in the story so yeah. I meant really creepy and I mentioned I wasn’t used to reading things like that.

So when I continued (Yes, it was already daytime LOL) , I really wasn’t able to stop. I spent every break time reading chapter after chapter. I know I’ve slowed down in reading because of my internship but I was able to finish the book for 2 days.

It was that book that will really keep you on the edge of your seat. Once you get to the good part, there’s no turning back. I kept reading because it was really exciting.

Telling the story by switching to the POVs of the main characters went really well. There were 5 MCs and some books that’ve tried it have failed to do so. It was orchestrated really well so, applause for the author. What she did made it easier to understand the story.

What just went off was I think the rising and falling action was somehow flat. It’s like I was instantly thrown into the climax. And the narration in that part was a little confusing for me. But still, it played with its own strengths. The climax really was good.

The synopsis did not let down too. It did sound a lot like a new season for Riverdale. It would make a pretty good movie.

Wrapping it up, it was an awesome and thrilling read! I highly recommend this to readers who’s looking for some suspense story. Overall, I rate This Lie Will Kill You3.5 out of 5 stars!
